 Hallelujah Homecoming

What a party! More than a hundred choristers, alumni and
friends
joined together at the Edelweiss Hall on November 28 to celebrate the
75th anniversary of the Victoria Choral Society—and with the
singing of the great chorus from Messiah, it was truly a Hallelujah
Homecoming!
The theme of the evening was camaraderie and continuity. Old friends
were reunited, new friendships were made. Many of the guests had
enjoyed a lifetime of friendship through the choir. One married couple
had met at a practice many years ago. Our longest-singing member first
came to choir with her twin sister, more than 50 years ago. Another
guest was there with her mother, both choristers. Clearly, the choir
has been a central part of the lives of all who attended. A love of
music has brought them together, and they have passed on the joy to
friends, family and the community.
